Canada Adventure 2015 Day 2

We were up at 6 AM to start the day off right. After throwing on a bit of gear, we rode down the main road in town to find a local diner, as usual. This place had some amazing coffee from Crowsnest Coffee Company! We knew the day would be short so we took our time and relaxed. Three cups of coffee later and we went back to the campsite to pack up our gear and hit the road.

Almost immediately out of town we hit a gravel/dirt Forestry Trunk Road north. The ride was peaceful and calm though a bit dusty in some areas.

The further north we got, the more apparent it was that it had just rained. This was definitely welcome as it killed the dust entirely. It also gave us an opportunity to test out our new Tourmaster heated jacket liners. Best purchases ever!

We linked up onto a blacktop highway for a bit before finding our way back to gravel. At this point we had already seen a group of big horn sheep and were on the lookout for more wildlife!

Some time after that, Chris spotted a moose across a lake. So we stopped to try and get a better look at the elusive creature. By the time we got to where we thought he was, he had disappeared. It wasn’t until another 15-20 minutes later that we came across the same moose crossing the road in front of us as we changed gear!

We made it to Canmore around late afternoon to a great view coming out of the mountains. Banff was just a few miles up the road and after riding around the main avenue, we found a Hostel to stay at for a great price! We settled in a took in the sites and experiences that Banff had to offer. From a great little coffee shop called Evelyn’s to Tommy’s Neighborhood Pub where we enjoyed more live music!
