Canada Adventure 2015 Day 7

After such a long day previously, we were in no hurry to wake up. In fact, we slept in till around 9-10 am! I got all the gadgets up to full power so that I could continue to catalog my travels and we headed to downtown Revelstoke to do laundry and get lunch since, by the time we actually got the laundry in the dryer, it was already around noon. We ate lunch at The Village Idiot, a local eatery with a nice patio and the food was great! Sometime around 2:00 pm, we were gassed up and ready to start the day!

The day was a short one, only about 140 miles total, and mostly at a quick pace to the area near Kaslo, BC. After about 50 miles of slab we had ran into stopped traffic. Apparently Chris had forgotten that this day involved a ferry ride!

After riding off the ferry, we cool a quick left onto dirt again and followed it South along Trout Lake.

Eventually the road turned into highway 31 which is reputedly some of the best slab to ride in BC! Man I wish I had my Ducati now!

We stopped to eat in Kaslo, BC and then finished the rest of the 15 miles to Toad Rock Motorcycle Campground. This place is incredible! I can’t say enough good things about this amazing experience. The proprietor, Mary, is one of the nicest ladies around and the campground runs solely on the honor system. We talked with a few fellow campers and then decided against tent camping after being shown some ‘other’ accommodations!

Yes, we slept in the old Bluebird bus! It was outstanding! We enjoyed our evening so much that we decided to make the following day our rest day just to stay a second night. More to come!
