New Zealand 2017 Day 3

We left Christchurch with our rain gear on and headed South, paralleling the coast, until we hit the town of Orari. From there we headed West to Tekapo and the Mt Cook Observatory! This is truly an amazing place and one of the few dark sky reserves on the planet!

We spent quite a lot of time here, walking around, taking in the views, and getting a little lunch.

Chris took the opportunity to practice his calendar poses.

Eventually we got back on the bikes and continued on to Lake Pukaki, and stopped again. This would be the closest to Mt. Cook that we would get.

I don’t think I’ll buy his calendar.

After spending so much time playing around. We enjoyed the rest of the scenery from the bikes so that we could make it to Queenstown that night. We got into Queenstown with a bit of daylight left and went to eat at an amazing restaurant called Flame Bar & Grill with some incredible barbeque! Hot tub that night would end another great day!
